With the region’s numerous theme parks a major attraction to overseas homeowners and tourists alike, Legoland Florida is making a major bid to attract more visitors by opening a new 152-room resort hotel.

The park, located in Winter Haven in central Florida, now offers on-site accommodation just steps from the entrance built and decorated in the familiar multicoloured theme of its ever-popular bricks. More 2,000 models, created out of about 2million Lego bricks, populate the hotel. Each room or suite has a theme: adventure, kingdom, pirates and Lego Friends.

“It marks a shift in our emphasis on our marketing and moves us into further markets, overnights and internationals that will stay here and use central Florida as a base for other activities,” said general manager Adrian Jones.
