Following a global trend to tap the fortunes of China’s affluent middle class, the Miami Association of Realtors (MIAMI), the USA’s largest local realtor association with 35,000 members, has been promoting real estate to luxury buyers at China’s leading property showcase.

Over 5,000 real estate buyers attended the invitation-only event, where Teresa King Kinney, chief executive officer of MIAMI, presented information on the Miami and South Florida real estate market. Miami was one of 220 cities featured at the exhibition, from 35 participating countries.

China is one of the fastest-growing segments of South Florida foreign buyers, attracted by the galmorous lifestyle, fine weather, leading education institutions, designer shopping and strong economy. The proportion of sales in the area to Chinese buyers has doubled in the last three years to 2%

“The presence of Chinese buyers in South Florida is definitely growing,” said 2015 MIAMI residential president Christopher Zoller, who was also at the showcase. “South Florida has long led the nation in international real estate sales, and we feel very strongly that China, the world’s most populated country, will only increase Miami real estate sales to foreign buyers.”
