A leading Parisian property expert has predicted further falls for real estate prices in the French capital.

With a decrease of nearly 2% already in 2014, notary Thierry Delesalle says prices are set to drop below €8,000/m² in the first quarter of 2015, for the first time since 2011. Paris prices reached €8,440/m²in 2012.

Delesalle says that some districts will perform better than others, with prices still in excess of €10,000/m² in the central 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th arrondissements. Certain “prestige” homes fetch far more – a 162m² apartment near the Avenue des Champs-Élysées recently sold for €31,790/m².
